NPI Compliance at LPC

To comply with federal regulations for health claim submission, including the National Provider Identifier (NPI), LPC has taken the following actions:

• Installed the Allscripts PM and Allscripts Tiger software releases which accommodate NPI submission
• Loaded individual and group NPI numbers in all client databases
• Notified top 50 carriers of our clients's NPI numbers in each region in which those clients operate

The Allscripts FastServices clearinghouse is actively monitoring all carriers to whom they submit claims, and selectively turning on transmission of NPI numbers as carriers are prepared to receive them.  No further action is required on clients' part for electronic submission of NPI numbers.

 

We will be converting all clients to the new CMS-1500 (08/05) claim form during June of 2007, so that paper claims will contain both legacy provider numbers and NPI numbers.  See these documents for more information:
