Payerpath, an Allscripts company, will be replacing FastClaim as the claims clearinghouse for all Allscipts-Misys clients by the end of 2009. Since January of this year, LPC and MPC have been using the Payerpath service for all of our clients whom we manage. We want to introduce Payerpath to our Shared Service clients, to show you the advantages of this new system.
Instead of processing claims and sending reports to clients as the FastClaim clearinghouse does, the Payerpath system posts all reports to a secure online client portal. Users in your office access this portal via their Internet browser to:
verify the prior day’s submission
correct and refile claims immediately
review carrier-generated reports
retrieve electronic remittance advice reports.
Key Features of Payerpath
Manage accepted and rejected claims online
The Daily Upload Summary graph shows passed / failed percentage for claims processed. Access claims not transmitted, to correct and refile through the portal.
Front-end claim-scrubbing
The Payerpath edits are much more comprehensive than those applied at FastClaim. Payerpath applies Medicare Fraud and Abuse edits, Correct Coding Initiative and Medical Necessity edits, and Fiscal Intermediary edits, as well as carrier-specific edits. Claims not passing these edits remain at Payerpath for user review, correction, and refiling.
Graphical display of top edit errors
The most common errors from the last submission, identified by Payerpath claim scrubbing, are shown on the Welcome screen, when a user logs in.
No more paper reports from FastClaim
All carrier reports are available to view only, or view and print. The prior day’s claims and reports are ready for you to review and work first thing in the morning. No more wasted paper, or waiting for reports to arrive. Only print the reports you need. Others remain available online for 6 months.
See what the carriers see
View your electronic claims on a CMS-1500 form (as many carriers do when reveiwing claims). You can even see all of the claim data items which do not appear on a hardcopy claim, but are transmitted with an electronic claim.
