Compliance Programs

Throughout its existence, LPC/MPC has established and maintained various practices, policies, and procedures which collectively comprise its corporate compliance program. This program is intended to promote the ethical and lawful behavior of its employees, agents, and affiliates and to prevent and detect unlawful conduct. However, in light of standards that have been established in the Guidelines for Sentencing of Organizations promulgated by the U.S. Sentencing Commission, in August of 1998 LPC/MPC addressed compliance issues in a more formal manner through a formal Corporate Compliance Plan.

LPC/MPC voluntarily created and implemented its compliance plan, and as indicated throughout the organization, LPC/MPC strives to provide its services in an honest, ethical fashion, with respectful consideration towards all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. This commitment is an integral part of the LPC/MPC’s mission, and all LPC/MPC employees are expected to support the organization in this commitment. LPC/MPC believes that operating its business in this manner will result in: protection from potential liability; enhancement of the quality of its services; and ultimately, a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

LPC/MPC’s corporate compliance plan includes its own rigorous Code of Conduct, and specifically addresses:

  • the federal False Claims Act;
  • new employee compliance disclosure and training, and steps to communicate effectively its standards and procedures to all employees, agents, clients, and affiliates;
  • expectations of employees to report compliance violations;
  • disciplinary action for compliance violations;
  • effective programs to prevent and detect violations of law;
  • the establishment of monitoring and auditing systems that are reasonably designed to detect unlawful conduct by employees, agents, clients, and affiliates;
  • establishing and monitoring and publicizing a reporting system whereby employees, agents, and affiliates can report abuse by others within the organization without fear or retribution;
  • designation of a Corporate Compliance Officer and his or her corresponding duties;
  • cross references to the LPC/MPC Policy and Procedure Manual;
  • ongoing, company-wide education and training;

LPC/MPC is proud of its commitment to integrity and ethical business operation. While the LPC/MPC corporate compliance plan addresses LPC/MPC operations, LPC/MPC can assist its physician practices with the development of a plan tailored to their specific practice.
